Lithuanian electricity transmission operator LITGRID AB called for a public tender for the technological data network infrastructure equipment for 32 different objects throughout Lithuania. The aim of the project was to design a new infrastructure as well as to restructure the existing infrastructure of telecommunication cabinets in order to prepare them for the introduction of new telecommunications equipment.
The infrustructure of LITGRID AB is powered by 110V DC source, and telecommunication equipment is usually powered by 48V DC source. Thus the company was looking to implement such power supplies that were capable of convertion from 110V to 48V.
